PICTORIAL - THE BROW PERFECTED (almost)

As requested by the lovely Dak's of TWP, I decided to make a pictorial on how I achieve my brows.

Here's a picture of my messy brows before.

Let's get started - what you need:

1. concealer or foundation that is one or two shades lighter than your skin tone
2. a brow pencil
3. eyebrow powder kit or eyeshadow of choice
4. two angled brush
5. eye pencil sharpener
6. spoolie brush

So here's what I use:

From Left - Right: Select cover-up concealer NC45 (MAC) , spoolie brush from an old mascara, two angled brush, NYX eye brow cake powder (dark brown/ brown), Rimmel eye brow pencil (dark brown 001), pencil sharpener.

What you need to do

Step 1: brush your eye brows into shape using the spoolie. When brushing your brows, start by brushing them upwards then outwards.

Step 2: get your brow pencil to a sharp point using the sharpener, then lightly draw out the shape you'd like for your brows to be.
NB: if you like the shape of your brows then you can skip this step but if your brows are as unruly as mine then this is necessary.

Step 3: Using the concealer/foundation and one of the angled brush, go around the edges of the outline you drew and blend out using your fingers or a brush as shown above.
NB: ensure that any stray hair outside the outline you drew is covered properly using the concealer/ foundation.

Step 4: Using the other angled brush, fill in any sparse areas with the eye brow powder or your eye shadow of choice.

Step 5: blend out the light concealer/foundation properly with a foundation that match your skin tone to avoid the "halo" effect.

and you are done.

TIP: To get the faded effect at the beginning of the brow, lightly dip your spoolie brush into the lighter concealer/foundation and brush your brows with it (just the beginning).

Once you are done, use a brow gel to keep everything in place. Alternatively, use a clear mascara if you don't have a brow gel.

The brows are the most expressive part of our face and we like them to look perfect but they can never be perfect. Your brows are sisters not twins so don't be scarred if they are different from each other.

Hope this is helpful and informative.

  3. So question...you didn't have to arch/wax/shape your eyebrows at all? Definitely doing that this weekend...
