My Winter Warriors

Winter is just a horrible time for me and my skin and it seems to wreak the most havoc on my lips but this was before I discovered Carmex and Aveeno.

Carmex is just the best thing since slice bread. After years of using Vaseline on my lips (which made my dry/chapped lips worse), I decided to try Carmex after much recommendations and I am very happy  that I did.

Aveeno is just amazing. It keeps my dry/ashy skin in check 24/7 and I love it. I've been using these for over a year now and they are both here to stay for good (until I discover something better).

Growing Up in Naija Series

Last night I discovered the Growing up in Naija series and I have never laughed so much. If you were lucky (depends on your experience) enough to have gone to a boarding school in Nigeria then you will definitely relate to this.

And if you didn't have that experience just watch this video and you'll get all the inside scoop. lol
PS: Watch out for dude in pink. He is too funny

Two weekends ago, I discovered a great place that I know I will be frequenting from now on. It's a bar/restaurant situated opposite The Royal Festival hall in Waterloo called The Archduke. They have great food, drinks and live music which I loved the most.

For this look, I opted for a very simple winged out eyeliner with peachy lips.

Back to M.A.C Program

I was browsing around the net and stumbled upon this piece of juicy information "The Back to MAC Program". The statement released on their website says:

"Because we share your commitment to the environment, M.A.C accepts returns of its primary packaging through the back to M.A.C program. By returning six [6] M.A.C primary packaging containers to a M.A.C counter or M.A.C cosmetics online, you'll receive a free M.A.C lipstick of your choice as our thanks to you."

So if you want a free lipstick and have empty M.A.C containers lying around (6 to be exact) then visit their website and follow the instructions.

If like me you don't quite have enough then start saving your empty containers.

LIPSTICKS (Part 1)

Lipsticks are a great way to add a pop of colour to your look and to give a longer lasting lip colour. It depends on the look you are going for but I like to always wear a lip stick underneath just to have colour on my lips when my gloss fades away.

So in this post, I will be sharing with you my lipstick collection starting with the True Colour Lipsticks by Sleek Makeup.

Cranberry is a limited edition lipstick that came out in November 2011 as part of The Berry Collection. This has a deep red wine shade and gives a matte finish. I love this colour because its the perfect berry lip colour and  I can tone it down and use as a lip tint when I don't want too much "berryness".

Peaches and Cream has a peachy shade with a sheen finish. This is one of my newest purchase and to me it's just like Bare All with a little bit more colour with a sheen finish.

Coral Reef has a neon-coral shade and gives a sheen finish. This colour is everything I want in a lipstick; it's bright and it's loud and I love it.

Majestic is a dark-plumy shade with a matte finish. It is no longer available from the sleek website but you can find a similar shade such as Vamp.

Fuchsia is the very first lipstick I purchased from Sleek and I love it. The label is the same as Majestic but different from the rest because Sleek changed their labeling (PS: love the new label better). It has a matte finish and is still available to purchase from Sleek.

Naked is a nude lipstick with a sheen finish but for me its too light and gives me the ashy look so I pair it with a brown lip pencil to match my skin tone better.

Bare All is a nude lip colour with a peachy undertone and it has a matte finish. I love this so much that I went through a phase where I wore it every single day.

So that's all of my True colour Lipsticks and I am hoping to update this post with any new addition in the future. In the meantime, I'll be doing another post which will contain all the other lipsticks I own from other brands.

Do you own any True Colour Lipstick? If you do, which one is your favourite?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!

Today has been such a fun day chilling with my littlest cousin. He is so energetic that I don't even have the strength to keep up with him but I like hanging out with him.

I am in such a giddy mood at the moment. It's my birthday in less than 90minutes and for some reason I am really excited about this birthday which is very weird as I never look forward to my birthdays. I guess it's because I have a lot to be thankful for this past year and I know more blessings are on its way this year.

Happy New Year!!!

I will start this off by saying a big fat Happy New Year to all my lovelies. I know this is very late but I think better late than never right?
I am so happy and thankful that 2012 is here and I believe this year will be a good year for all of us and I hope you are all having a good year so far?

These pictures are courtesy of my IPhone and they were taking on new's day. I would list the products used on my face but I can't quite remember to be honest but if you'd really like to know, comment below and I'll think long and hard about the things I used.

In the meantime, I will tell you where I got my outfit from as a compromise:

Blazer - H&M
Top - H&M
Trousers - Dorothy Perkins
Boots - H&M
Scarf - Primark
Ring - Market

PS: I apologize for the crappy quality of the second picture but I really like it so I decided to add it.
