Merry Boxing Day....

It's been more than a minute since I've been or posted anything on blogger and believe me it's not for lack of trying. The last three months have been super busy that it seems like 24 hours is not enough for the day anymore.

Quick catch up, I started a full time Masters programme in September and it is kicking my ass...coupled with my part-time job, it seems like I don't even have any down time or blogging time. Anyway that was in the past. I've decided to become the master joggler in 2013 and focus on establishing my blog, maybe start making videos (what do y'all think? will you support me? ) and work on my portfolio as a makeup artist along with the studying and part-time work (am sure I can do them all lol).

Okk thats a quick catch up of what I've been up to....how are you guys doing? What's been happening in blogsville? Someone fill me in....

Here's my very Christmassy/Boxing Day look.....featuring steamy e/s (MAC) and stiletto l/s (Sleek).

Hope you like? Talk very soon loveliesss...

Merry Christmas & a very very happy New year to you and your loved ones.

GOSH Cosmetic Eye Makeup Trio

Hey Loves, am getting back into the swing of blogging and I wanted to share with you lovelies this uber cheap eye shadow trio I got a few weeks ago.
During a random trip to Superdrug, I noticed a stand with a bunch of GOSH cosmetics products reduced to £3 or £4 and after a lot of sifting through, I picked up these four eye makeup products. The small pots contains loose eyeshadows which will be reviewed on a future post.
The Trio palette comes with three colours perfect for creating a smokey eye or a simple day look. These colours don't have any special names so I've decided to give them names: the lightest colour will be called "milkyway", the golden colour will be called "snickers" while the dark brown will be called "galaxy chocolate" hehehe.
The palette contains 2g of product which is definitely a great amount for the price and the three colours all has shimmery/glittery particles in them. These colours looks great when swatched on my finger tips as shown below but when swatched on the back of my hands, the colour fades into nothingness...not impressed at all.

When I did use it, I noticed that milky way and snickers seems to be a lot more pigmented than galaxy chocolate but they all require a good base/primer (I used NYX Jumbo pencil) to give'em something to adhere to which makes the colours pop a lot more. I only bought this palette because it was on sale and  won't be buying the other trio palettes in the range cos that'll be a waste of my money.

To me this is not worth buying, there are lots of other brands that produce better quality eye shadows  but if you can't afford to shell out the extra £££s for other brands such as Sleek or Inglot then you might wanna get this and try for yourself.

Do you own any GOSH palettes? What are your thoughts on the colour pay-off of their eyeshadows?

Back to School Look 1 - a touch of blue

Hey loves, hope you've all had a good week?

Since I'll be going back to university in September, I decided to create a few going back to school looks that'll be suitable for anyone.

I opted for a blue eye liner to add a pop of the colour to the look but you can use any colour you prefer. On my lips, am wearing Revlon's Smoked Peach lipstick with a Barry M lip gloss on top.

I kept the rest of my face fairly simple and nude with a little contouring and Sleek's "sahara" blush on the cheeks.
UPDATE: completely forgot to mention that the blue eyeliner is from the MUA stand at Superdrug.
I absolutely love this look; simple, quick and not over the top. I'll definitely be wearing this to lecture.
To find out how I apply my foundation check out this post.

More back to school looks on the way...stay tuned

here are a few of the frames, click here to see the full gallery

Isn't this incredible? Hope you enjoyed his story?

MAC "Hug Me" Lipstick

Hi lovelies, hope you're all having a good week so far?  The weekend is almost here and I will like to share with you my new favourite "weekend" lipstick - Hug Me. I've worn this everyday of the past two weekends and I cannot get enough of it.

Hug me is described as a flesh pink lipstick with a lustre finish which I totally agree with. It disappears on my lips when applied and blends seamlessly with my skin tone. The lustre finish helps keep the lips moisturised and enables it to glide over the lips easily.

It contains 3g of product and retails for £14 as part of MACs regular collection.

This is pretty pigmented; It gives a good colour pay off with a creamy finish. As with all nude lipsticks, it doesn't last all day so needs reapplying after some time especially after eating and drinking. Having said that, I absolutely love this lipstick. It is the perfect nude for that everyday/no-makeup look and will definitely recommend everyone to have this in their makeup bag or at least go to the MAC counters and swatch it.

Here are a few pictures of me wearing "Hug Me"
(Taken with the IPhone)

You can pick this up from MAC counters or website.

Beauty on a Budget: Stars Makeup Haven Lip Gloss

Hello my lovelies!!! It's been more than a while since I've done any kinda blogging, hope you are all doing better than I am? The funny thing is that I come on blogger everyday to check up on my favourite blogs and troll the interweb but lack the motivation to talk to you beauties (bad bad bad). I promise to do better from now.

OK on to today's post...

I am not the biggest fan of lip glosses at all but when i saw these on my favourite site I thought "hmm let me try these and if I don't like them I can just give them to my little sister" lol.
They came packaged in these simple but cute purple box and contains 2.7g/0.095oz of product (please don't ask where the 3rd box is)
They retail for £1.50(sale) each and come with a dome shaped applicator.
The shades I picked are

The colour pay off of these glosses are pretty good although the brighter ones are a lot more pigmented. I always pair them with a lip pencil + lipstick combo so can't really comment on its staying power but as with every lip gloss, you always have to reapply after a few hours.
They have no weird smell and no sticky consistency. My favourite has to be "hot chocolate", when paired with "Hug me" it gives the perfect nude lip colour for my skin tone. I'll definitely recommend these as they are extremely affordable and worth every penny.

All Time Fav: Sleek MakeUp's "Sahara" Blush

I go through phases with everything I own, one minute they are hot and next I don't even remember they exist but this blush right here *in my best Tamar Braxton voice* is my all time absolute favourite. I can wear this blush with any look for any occasion.
Sahara is a mid-tone orangey-brown matte blush with flecks of shimmer (does that make sense). It gives a warm glow with a natural finish - like I have nothing on.
As you can see, mine has seen better days; I've had this for over a year now and I haven't even hit pan and that's because It comes with a whooping 8g of product and retails for £4.49 (definitely wasn't that much when I got mine...blame recession).
I think this is definitely a must have esp for women of colour..try it and let me know what you think.

A Twist on Tradition

Hey Lovelies!!! How are you beauties doing?
Saturday was a very hectic but fun filled day for everyone involved, my cousin got married and we partied like it was 1999...hehe. My day started at 4:30am as I had to get ready and  make my way to Essex before 9am to beautify the bride for her big day and thanks to milk of magnesia and Porefessional, my makeup stayed put for the whole day (15 hours to be exact).

My dress was designed by the talented Asake of Asakeoge and I absolutely love it. It is super fitted and well made, granted I couldn't move or sit down or eat much (which is a plus I guess) but it was everything I wanted the dress to be. If you haven't heard of Asakeoge before then check her out here and here.

Dress: custom made by Asakeoge
Shoes: Asos
Bag & Bangle: H&M
Watch & ring: Asos
Earrings: DIY by me
Lipstick: Sleek's Mystic

PS: stop calling me when am trying to blog....who know who you are lol

Red Cherry Lashes

Hey Lovely people!!! Hope you are all enjoying your weekend?
Decided to do a quick post while watching the Wimbledon Final between Murray & Federer on my recent Red cherry Lashes  purchase. I got these from an eBay seller called Joy's Cosmetics, who sells a host of brands that are not easily accessible here in the UK at very reasonable prices.
I purchased these 6 lashes for £6.61 including £5.09 for p&p which makes these extremely cheap and affordable. They are made from 100%  human hair, great quality and definitely re-usable. The bands are very thin with some being invisible which makes them very easy to apply and blend with your natural lashes.

I will definitely recommend you to check out Joy's Cosmetics, am pretty sure you'll fall in love with it too.

Have a great Sunday Lovelies...
