My Facial Skin Care Routine

Hey beauties!! Hope you are all enjoying your week and basking in this beautiful weather we having right now? This gives me hope that we might have some sort of summer this year

Am sure you all know the importance of taking care of your skin especially your face so am not going to go into that but if you don't, check out this article (really helpful). So here are the products I use(my skin type is normal to dry):

  1. Johnson's Daily Essentials Facial Cleansing Wipes (Normal skin): I use this to remove any makeup (including waterproof mascara) at the end of the day.
  2. Mary Kay Timewise 3 in 1 Cleanser: this is used once a day mostly in the mornings to wash my face.
  3. Queen Helene Natural Facial Scrub: I use this about 3/4 times a week along with a facial brush.
  4. Mary Kay Timewise Even Complexion Mask: this is a new buy, I've had it for 2 weeks now and used it about 4 times but should be used 2/3 times a week.
  5. Mary Kay Timewise Age-Fighting Moisturizer: this is used daily

As you can see my facial skin care regime is very simple. I just use a cleanser, an exfoliating scrub and a moisturizer. Oh and when I remember, I use a face mask. Am not really great at taking care of my face, I don't cleanse twice a day like I should, I don't use a toner and I only use facial wipes to remove my make up before my head hits the pillow but that's all going to change.
So I went to The Body Shop and picked up some additions to my regime. Hopefully I can keep up with a twice daily routine and see if there's any changes.
The new additions are:

Vitamin E Eye Cream - claims to help reduce appearance of fine lines, puffiness and dark circles.
Nutriganics Refreshing Toner - contains organic babassu oil & softens, smoothes and revitalises.
Vitamin C Facial Radiance Powder Mix - contains vitamin C rich Amazonian Camu Camu and aloe vera. A 10 days supply of freshly mixed pure vitamin C at 5% concentration to awaken your skin radiance.

So that's my daily facial care, will keep you beauties updated on these Body Shop additions. Also let me know if you'll like further details on any of the other products mentioned.

Are you a Mary Kay girl like me, what are your thoughts on there skin care line? and if you've used any of the Body Shop products please let me know what you think of them..

xoxo

FOTD: Yellow, Paches + Cream

Hey beauties!!! Hope you all had a great weekend?
This  look was loosely inspired by the one and only King Bey. This was one of the many fierce looks she wore for her Countdown video (see here) so I decided to recreate a toned down version suitable for everyday.
For the eyes, I used a matte yellow e/s (Inglot) and a dark brown from the Sleek matte palette. You'll definitely need a good primer and a base as yellow e/s need a lot of packing on and pressing to get a good color pay off. I used NYX jumbo pencil (milk) but I would suggest using a yellow base as this will give a more intense bright yellow but I worked with what I had.
After applying the base on the lid only, I cut my crease with a dark brown pencil then started the tedious process of packing the yellow on to the base. I blended out the brown pencil with the matte brown e/s towards my brown bone which i highlighted using honey spice e/s (Mary Kay).
For the lips, I decided on a nude/coral lip and paired NYX mauve lip pencil with Sleek's peaches and cream lipstick.
Alright beauties, let me know what you think of this look and if you know of any extremely pigmented yellow e/s out there, please let me know

Have a great day....
xoxo

Hello beauties, Hope you all had a lovely weekend?
I am back with another eye makeup tutorial using purple and dark brown eye shadows to create a smokey eye suitable for a day look as well as an evening look. As I wore this during the day,I decided to keep the rest of my face very simple by using Sleek's 'Sahara' blush and MAC's 'Hug Me' lipstick but you can wear any lipstick you are comfortable with (pink lips will compliment this look perfectly for an evening look).
                                                    products used:

Face
Primer: Milk of Magnesia (MoM)
Foundation: Medium Coverage Foundation, Bronze 600 (Mary Kay)
Concealer: Select Cover-UP, NC45 (MAC)
Powder: Mineral Powder Foundation, Bronze 2 (MaryKay)
Blush: Sahara (Sleek Makeup)
Contour: Face Contour Kit (Sleek Makeup)
Eyes
Primer: primer potion (urban decay)
eyeshadow base: jumbo eye pencil, dark brown 602 (NYX)
transition colour: clove (FrontCover Reborn palette)
lid colours: dark purple '325' & dark brown '329' (Inglot)
brow bone highlight: biscuit (Frontcover Reborn Palette)
inner corner highlight: clematis & biscuit (Front Cover Reborn palette)
Upper lash Line: Glam eyes liquid liner (Rimmel)
Lower Lash Line: Supershock gel liner in Black (Avon)

Brows: Eyebrow Pencil, black brown (Rimmel); Brow kit (NYX)
Lips
Lip Pencil: soft brown(NYX) & Chestnut(MAC)
Lipstick: Hug me(MAC)
Lip gloss: no name from Superdrug

Step by Step eye-makeup Tutorial:
  1. apply an eye shadow primer all over your eye space including the brow bone.
  2. apply a dark brown eyeshadow base to the mobile lid and blend upwards towards the crease using your finger or a flat shading brush.
  3. use any brown eyeshadow closest to your skin tone as a transition colour and apply this in the space between your brow bone and your crease.
  4. press a deep purple eye shadow onto the dark brown base just in the middle of your lid and then a dark brown eye shadow on the outer corner.
  5. blend these two colours together using a fluffy blending brush to remove any harsh lines
  6. apply your highlight colour on your brow bone and the inner corners of your eyes
  7. line your upper and lower lash line using a black liquid liner or pencil and finally apply some mascara to your lashes(completely forgot this myself lol)and you are DONE.
hope you like this look as much as I loved it....

Since it was my birthday, I decided to go a little extra with my look and add two lashes. MAC TAG

I saw this on a blog I just recently started folowing and decided to do it as well. I do not have a huge collection of Mac products but I love the few that I own especially the lipsticks.

So here we go,

How long have you been using Mac?
I used my first Mac product during my first year of Uni which was in 2008. I was getting ready for a night out with a friend and I decided to try her pink lipstick and I fell in love.
What was your first Mac product?
The first Mac product I ever purchased myself was the lipstick mentioned above and it is Mac's girl about town. I loved this lippie and till today I still love it.
What's your all time favourite Mac product?
Well from my mini collection, I'll have to say Mac's Ruby Woo lipstick. It is the best red lipstick ever and it is matte and it suits every skin tone. GORGEOUS.
What's your least favourite Mac product?
I currently do not own anything by Mac that I don't like but when that happens I'll definitely let you know.
Do you own a Pro Card?
Nope. Unfortunately it is only for professional make-up artists but I do wish Mac will consider some type of discount for regular folks like you and me.
Your Mac foundation shade?
Don't know what it is yet but will find out soon as I am looking to try their face and body foundation.
Your favourite: Mac Foundation?
Well, never used so don't have one at the moment.
Eyeshadow
I only have carbon which is the blackest black eyeshadow I own so that'll have to be my favourite.
Lipstick
I will have to Russian Red. It is a matte red lipstick with orange hues and it is to die for.
Liner: never used any eye liner but i have their lip pencil in chestnut.
Brush: don't own any
Pro Prduct: this will be an orange lipstick i purchased from the cosmetics company.

Comment on the following Mac product; Have you used them? If so, give feedback.
Unfortunately for most of the products mentioned in this section, I have never used them so I'll just skip writing those products down but will add them later when I purchase and try them out.

Mineralize Blush
I adore these blushes, they are really pigmented and the colour payoff on the cheeks is so worth it.

Select Cover Up Concealer
I use this under my eyes to brighten and conceal. I can say it looks good as a brightener but it doesn't really conceal all the baggage I carry under my eyes.

Lipstick
These are my favourite products ever by Mac. The pigmentation is amazing, the range of colours available is huge, the colour pay off and staying power is incredible. Yep!!! I love them.

Lip Pencil
I like the one I own.

Paint Pots
I bought painterly having watched lots of reviews on it and it is really good. It is light coloured so can be paired underneath any eyeshadow.

Eyeshadow
I only own one which is disappointing but I will definitely be adding more to my collection as the one I own is really good.

So that's it. As you can see, I do not own a lot of Macs but I am looking forward to increasing my collection.

Thanks a lot for reading and I'll be updating this post in the near future.
