All Time Fav: Sleek MakeUp's "Sahara" Blush

I go through phases with everything I own, one minute they are hot and next I don't even remember they exist but this blush right here *in my best Tamar Braxton voice* is my all time absolute favourite. I can wear this blush with any look for any occasion.
Sahara is a mid-tone orangey-brown matte blush with flecks of shimmer (does that make sense). It gives a warm glow with a natural finish - like I have nothing on.
As you can see, mine has seen better days; I've had this for over a year now and I haven't even hit pan and that's because It comes with a whooping 8g of product and retails for £4.49 (definitely wasn't that much when I got mine...blame recession).
I think this is definitely a must have esp for women of colour..try it and let me know what you think.

A Twist on Tradition

Hey Lovelies!!! How are you beauties doing?
Saturday was a very hectic but fun filled day for everyone involved, my cousin got married and we partied like it was 1999...hehe. My day started at 4:30am as I had to get ready and  make my way to Essex before 9am to beautify the bride for her big day and thanks to milk of magnesia and Porefessional, my makeup stayed put for the whole day (15 hours to be exact).

My dress was designed by the talented Asake of Asakeoge and I absolutely love it. It is super fitted and well made, granted I couldn't move or sit down or eat much (which is a plus I guess) but it was everything I wanted the dress to be. If you haven't heard of Asakeoge before then check her out here and here.

Dress: custom made by Asakeoge
Shoes: Asos
Bag & Bangle: H&M
Watch & ring: Asos
Earrings: DIY by me
Lipstick: Sleek's Mystic

PS: stop calling me when am trying to blog....who know who you are lol

FOTD: Yellow, Paches + Cream

Hey beauties!!! Hope you all had a great weekend?
This  look was loosely inspired by the one and only King Bey. This was one of the many fierce looks she wore for her Countdown video (see here) so I decided to recreate a toned down version suitable for everyday.
For the eyes, I used a matte yellow e/s (Inglot) and a dark brown from the Sleek matte palette. You'll definitely need a good primer and a base as yellow e/s need a lot of packing on and pressing to get a good color pay off. I used NYX jumbo pencil (milk) but I would suggest using a yellow base as this will give a more intense bright yellow but I worked with what I had.
After applying the base on the lid only, I cut my crease with a dark brown pencil then started the tedious process of packing the yellow on to the base. I blended out the brown pencil with the matte brown e/s towards my brown bone which i highlighted using honey spice e/s (Mary Kay).
For the lips, I decided on a nude/coral lip and paired NYX mauve lip pencil with Sleek's peaches and cream lipstick.
Alright beauties, let me know what you think of this look and if you know of any extremely pigmented yellow e/s out there, please let me know

Have a great day....

FOTD: Simple Gold + Brown with Nude Lips

Hey lovelies!!! How are y'all doing? The weekend is almost here and I am tres excited. It's been a very long week and I am looking forward to chillaxin with some cocktails & good food.
This is an easy, simple and quick nude eye look that I wear on a regular. Am wearing gold e/s on my eye lids, blended out using a dark brown e/s; lined my upper and lower lash line with black eyeliner and added natural lashes to glam it up a teeny bit. The great thing about this look is that you can add any lip colour you wish
For my lips, I used Rimmel's Tiramisu and MAc's Chestnut (lip pencils) along with Sleek's Naked lipstick.

Have a great weekend guys!!!

Thoughts: Sleek MakeUP Ultra Matte Dark Palette v2 + |Swatches|

Hey beauties!!! Hope you all had a good week and enjoying this sunny weekend. It is finally summer here in the UK and it is hella hot..can't say am loving the heat though.
On to this post...A few weeks ago, Sleek MakeUP released two new i-Divine eye shadow palettes called Ultra Mattes v1(brights) and v2(Darks) palette. I love matte eye shadows so when I heard about these two palettes, I knew they have to be in my collection. As with previous palettes, they come in a matte black casing with the Sleek logo embossed in front with 12 eye shadows each containing 1.1g of product.
Top row (L-R): Orbit, Ink, Highness,Noir,Dune,Pillow Talk
Bottom row (L-R): Thunder, Maple, Flesh,Paper Bag, Villan, Fern

Instead of ordering online, I decided to go in store and swatch the colours and I am  so happy I did. I was disappointed with the colour pay off of the shadows from the "Brights" palette so decided to get just the "Darks" palette as it is more versatile and will be more useful to me.

Below are swatches of the Darks palette:
Thunder &Orbit                      Maple & Ink                   Flesh & Highness

Paper Bag & Noir                                                     Villan & Dune                              Fern & Pillow Talk

These colours were swatched without any base/primer and has great pigmentation but some of them has greater colour pay off than others which is expected in a palette. Unfortunately as these are matte, there's a great deal of fall out but this doesn't bother me at all. If you can't deal with fall outs then you can use paper towel to catch the fall outs or apply your eye makeup before your face makeup.

I will definitely recommend this palette. It is a good value for money (retails for £7.00) and perfect for creating various looks which will be perfect for the Summer sun.

so what do you think of the Sleek Ultra mattes palette? and if you have the Brights palette please let me know of your experience with it as I am considering getting it as well.

Sleek Makeup Blush by 3 Pumpkin Review and Swatches

Hey lovelies,

I am sure you've all heard of the Blush by 3 palette's from Sleek makeup released exclusively to Superdrug. Well if you haven't, let me quickly bring you up to speed.
Sleek makeup released 5 blush palette's (Lace, Pumpkin, Flame, Pink Spirit and Sugar) with each palette containing 3 different blush available only at Superdrug stores until April 11. Each palette retails for £10 and is now available to be purchased online at sleekmakeup.com

I got the Pumpkin palette which has a trio of gorgeous reddish-coral, pink and orange shades called Lantern, Squash and P Pie which are all great for spring and summer.

Lantern has a slight shimmer while Squash and P Pie are both matte. These blush are very pigmented and requires a very light hand when applying (depends on the look you are going for really).

The Pumpkin was the only palette I wanted from the 5 palette's because of the orange shade as I missed out on Aruba (a previous limited edition blush) when it came out.  These are very pigmented and am sure will look great on any skin colour ...I absolutely love it.

Do you own any Blush by 3 palette? If so what are your thoughts on them?

My 5 Fab Red Lipsticks under £5

Hi beauties

As the post title suggests, I will be sharing with you my top 5 red lipsticks under £5. If you peep through my lipstick collection, most of the colours you'll see will be red. I love red lipsticks; they are an all year round perfect colour suitable for every occasion and I love wearing it.

Here are my top 5 "purse-friendly" red lippies:

  1. Sleek Makeup True Colour Lipstick "Stiletto" - a bright matte lipstick, retails for £4.00 and can be found at Superdrugs or Sleek website.
  2. Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick "Rose Passion" - as the name suggests, this keeps your lips moisturised. retails for £6.29 at Boots but can be purchased from ebay for £3.00 including p&p.
  3. MakeUp Academy (MUA) Lipstick "shade 13" - retails for £1.00 and can be found at Superdrug only.
  4. Maybelline Moisture Extreme Lipstick "Rouge Passion/Passion Red" - I purchased mine during a sale at Wilkinsons about 2 years ago. Can't seem to find it in Boots or Superdrug but you'll definitely find it on ebay. normally retails for £5.29  but can be found for as little as £1.59 here.
  5. Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick "Diva Red" - same as rose passion (see above).
Pros - these lippies are extremely affordable and perfect for us divas on a budget, they all have a good colour payoff especially stiletto and MUAs shade 13 and they all apply smoothly without tugging the lips. Oh the Rimmel ones smell nice as well.

Cons - apart from stiletto, the others don't stay on as long as I would like so I have to keep reapplying but I really don't mind.
Top L-R: rose passion (Rimmel), shade 13 (MUA), diva red (RImmel)
Bottom L-R: passion red (Maybelline & Stiletto (Sleek.

Have you tried any of these lipsticks? If not, what other affordable red lipstick do you own?
